Family Handyman

At iHandy, we are a small family business and all about the family. I work to support my family. I work to help fix and provide the home you want for your family. As such, our team strives to provide the best quality craftsmanship and service to our customers because operating at a high standard is how we keep customers coming back, because we care for you like family.

My background:

I grew up in a household that was very DIY oriented and we figured out how to get it done (before the days of YouTube). My dad worked in a variety of trade skills and I worked with him on a variety of work and home projects. I also participated in a variety of tradeskill classes throughout high school. Following high school, I joined the Marine Corps where I gained skills in problem solving (Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome) which, in my opinion, is the most important quality in a good handyman. Nobody can have the experience in every variable of every job, so the handyman has to be able to problem solve and find a solution to complete the project. Following the Marine Corps, I worked as a deputy with Ada County Sheriff’s office and started maintaining rentals on the side. Eventually, I resigned being a deputy so I could be a stay at home dad while my wife continued working as a nurse. Over time, our kids eventually all grew to be school aged and I was left with a lot of extra time, so I started looking for something to do. I found a niche cleaning gutters for people nearby and as word spread, I had more and more requests for gutter cleaning. While cleaning gutters, it was not uncommon for customers to ask if I could do other helpful things around the house, such as mounting tv’s, fixing fences, replacing faucets, etc. Eventually, I had 3-4 weeks worth of work regularly scheduled and in 2016 I decided to register and license iHandy as an official business. Since then, I have helped thousands of customers with thousands of projects in dozens of fields of home repair and construction. I have grown much in knowledge and skill. To quote a favorite customer of mine, I have become a pantologist, factotum, and master craftsman…essentially a jack of all trades who studies all things, works on all things, and is highly skilled in all those things (because why specialize in one thing when there are so many things to do?).

Why iHandy?

At iHandy, we are your one stop shop for all things home maintenance, repair, and renovation. We are not a random fly by night handyman you find on craigslist or your neighbor’s, brother’s, uncle. At iHandy, we will be there, we will do an excellent job, we will always complete a job, and we are a registered, licensed, and insured business. Don’t risk it. Call us and be confident knowing that you are getting a highly skilled and reliable handyman.
